Objective of Delegation:

The purpose of this delegation is to boost the bilateral business relations and to explore the opportunities for the promotion of Nepalese trade and tourism in UAE, as well as to attract UAE investment to Nepal.

Benefit of Delegation:

UAE Chambers and businesses were not very aware of the immense business potential in Nepal since there was little representation from Nepal to UAE over the last few years. The delegation of the Nepal UAE Chamber of Commerce & Industry has provided a window into the business opportunities in Nepal, as well as a supporting organization for any business investments into Nepal.

Meeting with Organization: Dubai Chambers

Discussion: Very productive meeting with Mr. Omar at Dubai Chambers. This was the first business delegation meeting they have ever had with Nepal. Even though this was a first meeting, Dubai Chamber has agreed to provide support in linking with other government organizations and help in upskilling of Nepalese workforce in UAE and support in providing clarity on regulations regarding export of fruits and vegetables to UAE, which will increase trade between the two countries. They have also promised to help us connect Nepalese businesses with other prominent Dubai businesses looking to invest in Nepal.

Meeting with Organization: Rak Chamber

Discussion: Elaborate business discussions with RAK Chamber, which culminated in the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, with the objective of increasing business ties between Ras Al Khaimah and Nepal. RAK Chamber will provide Nepal with booths in exhibitions taking place in RAK in March. They are also willing to start commercial flights between Rak and Nepal and showed immense interest in agricultural opportunities.

Discussion: The discussion centered on how business and trade between Nepal and UAE can be increased through close cooperation between Nepal UAE Chamber and the Nepal Embassy in UAE. Nepal UAE Chamber has requested His Excellency to provide a dedicated person at the Embassy responsible for increasing business ties between Nepal and UAE. The Embassy has assured us of their full cooperation and will soon organize an interaction program between UAE based businesses and our members.
